Modelsvit 72056 1/72 Dassault Mirage GB 01 Two Seater
Modelsvit brings us a completely new 1/72-scale model kit of the Mirage G8.01 prototype two-seater variable-wing interceptor!
The Mirage G8 is an interceptor designed and manufactured by the French company Dassault in the 1960s. The engines for this aircraft were planned to be two M53s for the mass-produced model, but the prototype was built with an Attar 9K50. The first prototype (G8.01) made its first flight in May 1971, and the second prototype (G8.02) recorded a speed of Mach 2.34 in 1973 -- the fastest in Europe at the time. However, the project was canceled due to rising costs caused by the complexity of the variable-wing mechanism and the worsening economic situation caused by the first oil crisis.
This model kit features wings that can be opened or retracted. Photo-etched parts, painting mask stickers, two types of canopies (open and closed), and decals by Cartograf for one French Air Force version are included.
